On February 1st, 2019, The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were announced. Fifty-seven students in Mrs. Conner’s Photography Program at Grayson Technical Education Program participated in the regional Georgia competition. Students were required to submit five of their best photographs. Ten students submitted a portfolio of work to be judged for scholarships. As a result, 7 gold keys, 11 silver, and 23 honorable mentions were awarded. In addition, five students were awarded a prestigious recognition for a full photography portfolio. The seven gold key winners advanced to the national competition level. Rebecca Eludinni received a Gold National Award, which will be celebrated June 6, 2019 at Carnegie Hall. Nearly 340,000 works of art and writing were submitted in the 2019 Scholastic Awards; receiving a national medal places a student within 1% of all submissions!
