The Computer Information Technology and Network Systems program is ideal for outgoing students with a genuine passion for computers.

In this nontraditional classroom environment, the majority of your time will be spent engaged in hands-on, project-based learning activities. This program will immerse you in state-of-the-art computer systems and business systems, providing a solid foundation in technology as you explore college programs and industry certifications.

Beginning with the core areas of computer hardware, software, and networking, you will learn about multiple operating system platforms, security standards, correct methods for installation, and maintenance of components and training in the area of user support. Advanced studies will provide fundamental skills in basic programming concepts, applied programming languages (Java, C++, etc), software development and database administration.

Taught from a business and entrepreneurial perspective, you will also learn about the important social, ethical, and legal issues surrounding information technology. On the fun side, when group and individual projects are completed successfully you will be able to participate as a network administrator in the computer gaming club.

The practical application of concepts and project-based environment will provide you with a professional portfolio of your work as you seek future employment or acceptance into college programs.

Mr. Anthony Edwards


Mr. Anthony Edwards is the Information Technology Instructor at Grayson Tech. Mr. Edwards earned a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. He is currently working on a Masters in Workforce Education at the University of Georgia. His industry background includes three Internet startups and working for a Fortune 1000 company. His spare time hobbies include astronomy and falconry.
